Foodworks Owner: Getting Started with SMS
Dear Foodwork’s owner,
It’s been recently requested by us to provide an easy to use sms system to be able to better target consumers, provide special discounts via sms and increase customer loyalty.
As a result of our recent work in the Clubs and Gaming industry, we have modified our existing system to suit the supermarket and liquor business, with many more features to come.
It is our plan to provide FoodWorks stores with a custom membership program based on our current ClubIT membership solution which will allow store managers to manage a database of their customers and selecting custom interests for each individual buyer for example, one buyer might have an interest in Jack Daniels or Sports Magazines etc.
This will enable the store manager to develop dynamic, targeted advertising straight to the customers phone.
Further down the track we are also keen to tie it in with our loyalty system to keep track of what a buyer purchases then make our sms system provide relevant marketing to that individual user.
The first initial release of this software is targeted for July 2010.
In the meantime however we have created a simple version of what’s to come utilizing our existing system.
To get started you’ll need to do the following:
1. Sign up for our Foodworks SMS service, you can do this by clicking here. Our sign-ups are manually approved so please be patient we’ll contact you when your account is setup and invoice you for your initial setup fee($699) and initial bulk SMS’s.
2. Next, download our csv (spreadsheet) template file here (right click save target as). This file will open in Microsoft excel and in it you can enter in your customers information and manage your database of customers. Remember when you save it to retain it as a csv file and not an excel file.
3. Login our SMS system on the right of the page with your email address and password provided and get started by going into the phonebook section and importing your customers, it’ll ask for a csv file which you will have, press import , jump into the send sms section and away you go!
